Congress rejects transparency law for lobbies before it had been in effect for a month
What it is

The Congress of Deputies, in its session on September 16, 2026, agreed to repeal Royal Decree-Law 21/2026, of August 25, which was going to require interest groups (lobbies) to register in a public registry and declare who finances them and what interests they defend.

What it means for you

The regulation that was supposed to make transparent who pressures the government and Congress, with what money and for what purpose, is annulled before it entered into force. The text does not specify what will happen now or whether there will be another regulation to replace it.

👥 All citizens, who lose a tool to find out who influences political decisions.

Valencia approves an omnibus law that modifies dozens of regulations at once
What it is

It is Law 5/2026, of July 31, of the Valencian Regional Government, an accompanying law that modifies, adds and repeals individual articles of dozens of regional and state regulations (own taxes, regional portion of IRPF, sanitation, housing, cooperatives, urban planning, waste, mobility, civil service, healthcare...). It is published in DOGV no. 10425, of August 10, 2026.

What it means for you

Instead of a regulation with a clear purpose, it introduces scattered changes in more than fifty different laws and decrees, many of them old. Substantive changes are buried among technical references and are approved en bloc, without individualized debate. The text provided does not include amounts or effective dates.

👥 Valencians: it may affect what you pay in fees, IRPF, sanitation charge, protected housing regulations, urban planning or healthcare procedures, but without specific figures it is impossible to know how much or when.
#3💰 Económico
Hacienda withdraws incentives from 7 companies for failing to create jobs or invest as agreed
What it is

The Delegated Government Commission for Economic Affairs, in its meeting of July 13, 2026, declares the breach of conditions of regional incentives granted to 7 companies in Castilla-La Mancha, Canary Islands, Andalusia and Extremadura. For example, Life For Tyres breached 6.16% of the condition to create and maintain 38 jobs; at Linde Gas España €215,326 is missing from a required investment of €15,071,704.

What it means for you

Public subsidies are being withdrawn for failing to comply with what was agreed. The government does not specify the total amount of affected subsidies nor whether the companies will have to return money.

👥 The companies in question and, indirectly, taxpayers who financed those subsidies.
